BLOBFEST 2007, the 50th anniversary of filming The Blob at the Colonial Theater
July 13 from 7:30pm until 10:00pm - Re-enactment Night!
July 14 from 11:00am until 5:00pm - Street Festival!
The year was 1957 when Steve McQueen's low-budget sci-fi classic was filmed in Chester County, PA. One of the location scenes was Phoenixville's wonderful Colonial Theater, where a re-enactment of the audience panic scene is held every year. It is followed the next day by a fantastic street festival (parade, classic car show, and more....)with special movie screenings throughout the day.
The Rivers provided the sound track last year and will return this year with more music and fun in honor of our favorite movie, THE BLOB!
STUDY THE FOLLOWING LYRICS; there WILL be a test...
Beware of The Blob! It creeps, it leaps,
it glides and slides across the floor,
right through the door and all around the wall,
a blotch, a splotch, be careful of The Blob!
